1. Introduction

Jobbli ("we", "us", or "our") operates a job platform for teenage job seekers and employers in Ontario, Canada. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our platform.

By using Jobbli, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

We collect information you voluntarily submit when you:

  • Create an account (name, email address, password, date of birth)
  • Complete your profile (work experience, education, skills, resume)
  • Upload an existing resume (the file and its contents, see Section 3.1)
  • Post a job listing (company name, job details, contact information)
  • Submit job applications (application materials, responses to screening questions)
  • Contact our support team or provide feedback

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Platform, we may automatically collect:

  • Device and browser information (IP address, browser type, operating system)
  • Usage data (pages viewed, features used, session duration)
  • Approximate location based on IP address
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 8)

2.3 Information from Third Parties

We may receive information from third-party sources, including social media platforms you choose to link and publicly available databases.

2.4 Google API Disclosure

Jobbli.org uses Google OAuth to provide a secure sign-in experience. By signing in with Google, we access your email address and basic profile information (name and profile picture).

We use this data strictly to set up your user profile and communicate with you regarding your account. We do not sell this data or share it with third parties. Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

2.5 Video Interviews

Jobbli offers built-in video interviews between employers and jobseekers. For safety and dispute resolution, we keep a log of interview activity: who joined an interview room, when they joined, and when they left. We also store interview scheduling details, private notes an employer chooses to write about their own interviews (visible only to that employer), and any feedback or reports submitted after an interview.

We never record video interviews. No audio or video of an interview is captured, stored, or watched by Jobbli or anyone else. Video and audio streams are processed in real time on servers Jobbli controls and are discarded the moment the interview ends.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Operate and maintain the Platform
  • Process job applications and facilitate connections between job seekers and employers
  • Communicate with you about your account, applications, and platform updates
  • Improve the Platform and develop new features
  • Prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and maintain platform security
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

3.1 How We Use Artificial Intelligence

Jobbli uses an artificial intelligence (AI) service in two limited places. In both cases the AI is there to protect your privacy. It never decides who gets hired.

  • Resume uploads. If you upload an existing resume instead of building one, the text or image of that resume is sent to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI models, which reads it and fills in Jobbli's resume format. Phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, full postal codes, dates of birth, social media links, photos, ID numbers, references' contact details, family members' names, religion, sex, civil status and nationality are left out. You see the result and can edit it before anything is saved. Employers only ever see the Jobbli version.
  • Personal information detection. If a resume cannot be read into Jobbli's format, our blur tool uses the same AI service to point out personal information on the page so you can blur it before it is saved.

What the AI provider receives and keeps. Only the content of the resume you uploaded is sent. It is not used to train AI models. Under the provider's terms it is kept for up to 30 days and then deleted.

Human review. Each uploaded resume is also checked by the Jobbli team, who compare your original file with the Jobbli version to confirm personal information was removed. Your original file is stored in a private area that only the Jobbli team can access. It is never shown to employers.

No automated decisions. Jobbli does not use AI to rank, screen or reject jobseekers, and employers do not receive AI-generated assessments of you.

4. How We Share Your Information

4.1 With Other Users

When you apply to a job, your application materials and relevant profile information are shared with the employer. When you post a job, your company information is visible to job seekers browsing the Platform.

4.2 With Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers who assist in operating the Platform, including cloud hosting, email delivery, text message delivery, payment processing, and analytics providers. These providers are contractually required to protect your information. When you upload a resume, its content is processed by Anthropic, an AI provider, as described in Section 3.1. Video interviews run on infrastructure Jobbli controls and are not passed through third-party video services.

4.3 For Legal Purposes

We may disclose information where required by law, court order, or government request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, property, or the safety of our users.

4.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

5. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational safeguards to protect your personal information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection of your data.

6. Your Rights

Under applicable Canadian privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Withdraw consent for certain processing activities
  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@jobbli.org.

7. Minors

Jobbli is designed for users aged 14 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will promptly delete it. For users under 18, we encourage parental involvement and may require parental consent for certain activities on the Platform.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to authenticate users, remember preferences, and measure the performance of our own advertising campaigns, including through the Google tag on our public pages. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of the Platform.

For a full description of the cookies we use, the third parties involved, and how to manage them, see our Cookie Policy.

9. Third-Party Links

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external site you visit.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When your account is deleted, we will remove or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law. Original resume files you upload are kept privately for safety review as described in Section 3.1.

11. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in jurisdictions outside of Canada. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure your data receives a comparable level of protection as required under Canadian privacy law.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Platform prior to the changes taking effect. Your continued use of Jobbli following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

13. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, contact us at info@jobbli.org.
