1. Introduction

Jobbli ("we", "us", or "our") operates a job platform for teenage job seekers and employers in Ontario, Canada. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones we use on our platform, why we use them, and the choices you have.

This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes more broadly how we collect and handle personal information. By continuing to use Jobbli, you consent to the use of cookies and similar technologies as described below.

2. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They allow the site to recognize your device on subsequent visits and to remember information about your session. Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called "first-party cookies"; cookies set by another company through that website are called "third-party cookies".

Related technologies — such as local storage, session storage, and tracking pixels — serve similar purposes, and this policy covers them as well.

3. How We Use Cookies

We keep our use of cookies deliberately minimal. In broad terms, we use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in to your account securely
  • Remember preferences and in-progress form entries so you don't lose your work
  • Measure how well our own advertising campaigns bring visitors to Jobbli
  • Support embedded services we rely on, such as address suggestions when employers post a job

We do not display third-party advertising on Jobbli, and we do not sell personal information collected through cookies.

4. Types of Cookies We Use

4.1 Strictly Necessary

These are required for the platform to function. They authenticate your account, maintain your session between pages, and protect against misuse. The platform cannot operate properly without them, so they cannot be switched off through our platform — though you can always clear them through your browser, which will sign you out.

4.2 Functional

These remember choices you make so the platform works more smoothly — for example, keeping a half-completed job posting or registration form intact if you refresh the page. Disabling them will not break the platform, but some conveniences will stop working.

4.3 Advertising Measurement

Our public pages (such as the homepage and the employer landing page) include the Google tag, which sets cookies that help us understand whether our own advertising campaigns — for example, ads that promote Jobbli to local businesses — actually result in visits and signups. These cookies measure the performance of our ads; they are not used to show you ads on Jobbli, and we do not permit outside ad networks on the platform.

5. Local Storage and Similar Technologies

In addition to cookies, we use your browser's local storage and session storage. These hold data on your device rather than sending it with every request, and we use them to:

  • Store your authentication session so you stay signed in
  • Preserve registration and job-posting progress if you refresh or return to a page
  • Cache non-sensitive display data (such as your company name) so pages load faster

Clearing your browser's site data removes this information and will sign you out of Jobbli.

6. Third-Party Cookies

A small number of trusted third parties may set cookies when you use certain features:

  • Google (advertising measurement) — the Google tag on our public pages may set cookies used to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns.
  • Google Maps Platform — address search and autocomplete on employer registration and job-posting pages is provided by Google, which may set its own cookies when those features load.
  • Supabase — our authentication and database provider, used to operate secure sign-in.

These providers act as our service providers. Their use of information is governed by their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

7. Managing Your Preferences

You have several ways to control cookies:

  • Browser settings — every major browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies, either globally or per site. Consult the help pages for Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox for instructions.
  • Google ad settings — you can control how Google uses measurement cookies at adssettings.google.com.
  • Industry opt-outs — Canadian users can learn more and opt out of interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada at youradchoices.ca.

Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies or clearing site data will sign you out and may prevent parts of the platform from working.

8. Cookies and Minors

Jobbli is built for teenage job seekers, and we hold ourselves to a higher standard because of it. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of our users, we do not serve third-party ads, and we do not sell information collected through cookies. Advertising-measurement cookies relate only to our own campaigns that bring new visitors to Jobbli. Parents and guardians with questions about a minor's data can contact us at any time using the details below.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as our platform or the technologies we use change. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the platform.

10. Contact

If you have questions about this Cookie Policy or how we use cookies, contact us at info@jobbli.org.
