Jobbli ("we", "us", or "our") operates a job platform for teenage job seekers and employers in Ontario, Canada. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our platform.

By using Jobbli, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

We collect information you voluntarily submit when you:

  • Create an account (name, email address, password, date of birth)
  • Complete your profile (work experience, education, skills, resume)
  • Post a job listing (company name, job details, contact information)
  • Submit job applications (application materials, responses to screening questions)
  • Contact our support team or provide feedback

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Platform, we may automatically collect:

  • Device and browser information (IP address, browser type, operating system)
  • Usage data (pages viewed, features used, session duration)
  • Approximate location based on IP address
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 8)

2.3 Information from Third Parties

We may receive information from third-party sources, including social media platforms you choose to link and publicly available databases.

2.4 Google API Disclosure

Jobbli.org uses Google OAuth to provide a secure sign-in experience. By signing in with Google, we access your email address and basic profile information (name and profile picture).

We use this data strictly to set up your user profile and communicate with you regarding your account. We do not sell this data or share it with third parties. Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Operate and maintain the Platform
  • Process job applications and facilitate connections between job seekers and employers
  • Communicate with you about your account, applications, and platform updates
  • Improve the Platform and develop new features
  • Prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and maintain platform security
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

4. How We Share Your Information

4.1 With Other Users

When you apply to a job, your application materials and relevant profile information are shared with the employer. When you post a job, your company information is visible to job seekers browsing the Platform.

4.2 With Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers who assist in operating the Platform, including cloud hosting, email delivery, and analytics providers. These providers are contractually required to protect your information.

4.3 For Legal Purposes

We may disclose information where required by law, court order, or government request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, property, or the safety of our users.

4.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

5. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational safeguards to protect your personal information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection of your data.

7. Minors

Jobbli is designed for users aged 14 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will promptly delete it. For users under 18, we encourage parental involvement and may require parental consent for certain activities on the Platform.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to authenticate users, remember preferences, and analyse usage patterns. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of the Platform.

9. Third-Party Links

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external site you visit.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When your account is deleted, we will remove or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.

Your information may be processed in jurisdictions outside of Canada. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure your data receives a comparable level of protection as required under Canadian privacy law.
