How Jobbli works for employers

Head to jobbli.org/hire/register and start the signup flow. The whole process takes about two minutes, and you can post your first job right away.

What you'll need on hand:

• Your legal business or operating name
• Industry and approximate company size
• Business address in Mississauga
• A business email that appears on your website or social media
• A phone number we can use to verify your business

Using a business email or phone number that already appears publicly on your website helps teens and their families recognise you as a legitimate local employer.

Finish your company profile before posting jobs. Profiles with a logo, a clear description, and a website link consistently get more applicants because teens can see who they would be working for.

Add these to your profile:

• Company logo
• Short business description (2 to 3 sentences)
• Mississauga location and neighbourhood
• Website or social profile
• What teens will learn working with you

You can edit your profile at any time from the Account section of your dashboard.

From your dashboard, click Post a Job. Jobs go live to local teens immediately after you submit. On the free Basic plan you can post up to 3 job listings per month. Jobbli Premium ($19.99/month) gives you unlimited listings, 3 featured slots that pin your jobs to the top of the teen job feed, and full access to the Resume Database.

Required fields:

• Job title
• Job description (up to 500 characters)
• Responsibilities and requirements
• Pay rate or range
• Work schedule and availability

Recommended:

• Benefits and perks for teens
• Whether training is provided
• Transit accessibility
• Dress code

Note: Under Ontario's Employment Standards Act, workers under 16 cannot work between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. on school nights.

Local teens browse openings in their Jobbli feed, find yours, and apply directly. Every application drops into your Candidates page with the teen's profile, availability, and a short summary of their strengths.

From the Candidates page you can:

1. Sort applicants by job posting, availability, or date applied
2. Filter by status: Reviewing, Interested, Hired, or Rejected
3. Mark a candidate as Interested to unlock messaging
4. Rate candidates to find them again later if a role re-opens

You will get an email and in-app notification whenever a new application arrives. Notification settings can be adjusted from your Account page.

Once you mark a candidate as Interested, the Message button unlocks. Messaging happens inside Jobbli, so neither side has to share personal contact information before they are ready.

Common things to message about:

• Setting up a short intro call or in-person interview
• Asking follow-up questions about availability or shifts
• Sharing onboarding details after the hire
• Letting unsuccessful applicants know politely

For safety, keep all hiring-stage communication inside Jobbli messages. If anything feels off in a conversation, use the Report button.

When you find the right teen, open their candidate card and select Hire. Jobbli marks the role as filled (or you can keep it open for additional hires) and the candidate receives a confirmation message.

After hiring, take a few minutes to:

1. Send a welcome message with the start date, address, and what to wear
2. Share any required paperwork (work permit, direct-deposit form)
3. Let them know who to ask for on day one
4. Mark other applicants on the role as Rejected with a short thank-you note

Rejected and reviewed candidates remain on your Candidates page, so you can re-engage them when a new role opens.

Instead of waiting for applications to arrive, Jobbli Premium lets you go find candidates yourself. Open Resume Database from your dashboard, filter local teens, and message the ones who fit the role.

What you can do:

• Filter by skill, past job, or languages spoken
• See work history, skills and availability pulled from their resume
• Message a candidate in one click to invite them to apply
• Track everyone you contacted under Candidates → Invited to apply

To keep teens safe, personal contact details are never shared. All messaging stays inside Jobbli.

Once a teen is hired, you handle pay, scheduling, and day-to-day management directly. Jobbli does not take a cut and does not sit between you and your hire. Your dashboard continues to track active jobs, total applicants, and hires this month so you can plan future roles.
